In light of all the stories in the media at the mo about hospital care , thought i would tell you of my experiance

I have just spent 8 days in hospital , 3 of those in ITU , after a major op.

The care i received was second to none and everyone at the hospital was so nice , from my consultant down to the lovely lovely ladies who did the food and tea trollies. Nothin was too much trouble for any of them. Whatever you needed or asked for was given with a smile. I cannot stress enough how well i was treated.

So its with much thanx to the North Devon Hospital , Barnstaple. You did a great job

Thanx to you all :D :D

A nice tribute to your carers there Sue, I am sure they will appreciate it.
I was driving in and about Litchfield in Staffordshire last week and I said to Linda that I hope I don't have an accident or take unwell while her. Would not have been happy being taken to hospital in Stafford, after all the bad publicity they acquired in the last report on conditions in that hospital.

It makes all the difference when the staff in hospital, treat you nice, It is one job that makes a difference to peoples lives, so its nice when the hospital staf are thanked. (my sister is a nurse and she says that she treats her patients the way she would like to be treated, with respect and dignity and it costs nothing to smile, but can make a whole lot of difference to someones feelings

can't complain about the care I got when I had my appendix out either. Just the operating doc himself was going on about how I need to start walking around and shouldn't be in bed all day. :)

I think doctors generally want you up and walking as quick as possible no matter what procedure you have.

Can see what you mean Sue. When other half was in bout two years ago, she spent 17 days on the ICU although after 10 days should have been moved to HDU but as on of the infections wasThe H1N1 Virus or swine flu they keep her there. The treatment on ICU was second to none. They were the best bunch of highly trained nurses you could ever wish to meet.

The same cannot be said about the ward they moved her to, within 6 hours she was at home, there was not one nurse who said anything to her. That proved to us that the wards were sorely undermanned and in reallity they needed more nurses, what this government is doing to the nhs is just totally wrong and should be stopped for its own good.

My brother was sent to have his tonsils out privately as the NHS list was too long! Andddd it was the NHS that PAID for him to have them out privately  Now what the hell is that all about!!!! Obviously I am glad his tonsils are out as he was plagued with infections but goodness knows how much it would have cost the NHS!
