Would everyone that can please sign this petition to keep our general hospital open, they are trying to make it into a cottage hospital. If this hospital closes we would need to travel another 20 miles to another hospital. Emergencys would need to go along a busy motorway which is nearly always congested, this could cause unnessasary deaths.

Consider it done. there are too many closures at the moment they all need to be stopped.

Hi Sandra , I have signed as well, worked in the area for a year, many moons ago and still have a great love of your neck of the woods so best of luck hope the new Scottish government change this decision.

Have signed too. Makes me really mad,...how many times has the erskine bridge been closed since they scrapped the tolls? We already live an hours drive away from the Royal Alexandra, and if the bridge is closed its the clyde tunnel and another 30minutes.And thats not allowing for traffic and roadworks! An hour and a half tothe nearest A & E. :steam:

Just signed - I think it is awful when they are closing hospitals all over. (My other hate is the closure of post offices)

Sandra I presume that all of us who signed your petition have received the same response from the PM's office. It is not what you are wanting to hear but I suppose it is factually correct. Is there any other forms of protest going forward to the Scottish Parliament or the local NHS trust. What is happening on the ground must admit to not having heard very much on the Scottish news.

John we have had meetings in church halls and protested outside the entrance to the hospital, but to no avail, it looks like we will be running down one of the most important facilities in our area. It makes me mad that they are endangering our lives.
The hospital is in a bad state of repair it badly needs maintenence work done to it, but the powers that be are doing nothing about it.
It makes me so enraged when I see them squandering money on useless things and not on important things like peoples health.
Nicola Sturgeon was here last week and she didnt seem to do anything, I thought Gordon Brown would have at least had a look at the proprosals to see if there was anything to be done. We can only hope that we get a last minute repreive. :(

OK on on all of that Sandra, we hope that the people in power are making the right decisions for all of the us, we put our faith in them and on the face of it these decisions to the man in the street are the wrong decisions. Let us hope and pray that they are right but unfortunately if they are proved wrong then a lot of people will pay for it with their lives and invariably it will be too late to reverse the decision, and these people will usually no longer be there to hold them accountably.

Nicola Sturgeon was always vocal enough in opposition but don't seem to hear as much from her once she is in charge some how. She is coming to our trusts Annual Review next week so we will see what she has to say.
