I have had a chat with a delightful man who lost £3,000 when Crown Currency Exchange went into administration and is now in liquidation.

Apparently 10,000 to 13,000 unsecured creditors are owed around £20 million.

He is asking for help as they are unaware of the administration/liquidation process but I have explained the confidentiality rules regarding this.

Unfortunately around 700 of them paid money into a fund in an attempt to perhaps start a class action but most of that money has been used up. They were contacted by solicitors, as were Unfairpak, and unfortunately they listened to the solicitors.

Can we start digging and see what we can do to help these people?

Apparently there have been arrests also!

According to the gentleman I have spoken with, their website seems to have "backed off" a little :(

:( I've had a quick search and read, their is a lot for us at Unfairpak to catch up on.

Its bad enough situations like this occur in the first place but when solicitors try to take advantage it really makes me :steam:

They offered them help for a class action Sharon :(. There is a Facebook Group of which I am a member, I think perhaps you should join also. I am explaining Section 213 and 214 of Insolvency Act 1986 and how the liquidator would have taken action against directors on behalf of the unsecured creditors. We really need to see what we can do to help these guys.

I have documentation that I am going to take on Thursday to Vince Cable and pass same over.

Arrests have been made. We have an awful lot of catching up on this one but hey, it's what we are good at ;)

We can give you plenty of moral support but I am pretty positive we can help you in other ways also - our motto "positive outcomes only" - it may take years but we are used to it!

Right I am off to bed for the night at the insistence of my sis in law on FB chat. Think I am picking up the details of CCE quite quickly actually but really need help guys. These people lost their holiday money. Some even lost retirement money for moving abroad. 10,000 to 13,000 owed £20 million and the bank that froze CCE was Barclays! Yet another bank "story".

Would be good to get their story highlighted again just now especially given the fact that Barclays have been in the news so working to try and do that. Trying to sort out a main spokesperson for them and Unfairpak will just be the "back-up" campaign ie help with advising re media, politicians, putting them in right direction and I am quite prepared to help them send out emails etcetera.

Right nite nite folks - gonna go to sleep and dream of Andy winning Wimbledom 2moz!

Times are going to have a look at this today and I am going to speak about it with Jonathan from the Telegraph later on this week - he has apparently written quite a bit so will start reading up. There is a lot of reading to do!

I suspect certain reporting may be "difficult" due to arrests being made!
