3 STOOZING

THIS is a slang term to describe borrowing money at little or no interest and putting it away in a high-interest account.

The Halifax currently offers a 0 per cent rate for the first year on its credit card, so anyone borrowing £10,000 and putting it in a 6.5 per cent ISA could stand to make £650 a year.

At the end of the interest-free period, simply withdraw the money and pay off the card. Martin says: "The easiest way to do it is to spend on a credit card at a low interest rate and put your salary in an ISA.

"One man stoozed £4,800 in a year by putting cash from a card into an offset mortgage."
